A little about the practice

Siān Bonney Physiotherapy is a registered, private physiotherapy practice owned and run by myself, Siān Bonney. The practice was opened in November 2011.

The aim of the practice is to provide patients with good quality care, at medical aid scheme rates and in a comfortable private environment. I submit claims to all the medical aid schemes on behalf of patients for their convenience.

The treatment sessions are very hands-on and time allocated for each treatment is an hour, irrespective of whether you are a new or follow-up patient. Feel free to SMS, phone or email to make an appointment, complete contact details are available from the contact section.

I have recently acquired a Pocket Laservit which is a Laser device that can treat a variety of conditions. Please refer to the treatments for more information this treatment technique

I also have a traction unit called the Chattanooga Tru-Trac.
Traction is used for muscle spasm, disc injuries and pinched nerves. It is a very gentle way to help alleviate muscle spasm, relieve pressure of a pinched nerve as well as widening the disc space. It can be used for chronic neck and back problems or for an acute bout of neck or back pain.

A little about me, Siān Bonney

I studied BSc. Physiotherapy at the University of the Witwatersrand and qualified in 2007.
From there I did community service in 2008 at a clinic in Soweto, after which I relocated to Kwa-Zulu Natal in 2009 for 3 years where I worked in hands-on private practices with out-patients and hospital patients.

I moved back to Roodepoort in November 2011 and opened my physiotherapy practice in Helderkruin.
I have completed many courses over the years, these include: dry needling, kinesio taping, dynamic taping, active isolated stretching, Mulligan Mobilisation, and stroke rehabilitation.
The most recent course I completed was a specialisation in OMT (Orthopaedic Manipulative Therapy) in 2011, which is a year-long course and focuses on manual therapy, motor control rehabilitation and joint therapy techniques.

I like to keep myself active with outdoor activities such as sandboarding, hiking and running. I have a keen interest in learning new things and I have started learning how to play the drums.
